Menya-Gumi

About

Menya-Gumi is a family-owned Japanese Restaurant that specializes in modern Japanese comfort food, often referred to as “washoku”. The name Menya-Gumi translates to men (noodle) ya (house) gumi (group) – in our case, a noodle house where people gather over great food. Ramen is our specialty. From the rich and most widely known paitan broth, to the more unique and tantalizing clear chintan broth, Chef Angel Cheng has mastered the art of ramen making, inspired by old school sensibility with a new school attitude. Menya-Gumi features an array of popular Japanese appetizers, sandos, a variety of Chef specials, and imported Japanese beer and spirits. Located in New Haven’s urban core, Menya-Gumi offers food enthusiasts a taste of Japan in a casual and spirited setting.
